Here are a few of my thoughts on Social Media:

I’m different than most when it comes to Social media
•    I update once a day
•    I talk about hunting
•    I use several different sites rather than focus on one {Facebook twitter youtube (in that order)}
•    Goal to connect with few rather than many
•    I study it almost everyday

o    E-Myth quote “The Challenge of our age is to learn our customer’s language.” Pg 227

Things that help
•    My phone (I can do everything from it)

o    Video to youtube
o    Twit pic
o    FB
o    Google search/ web
o    Take record send video & picture

•    CoTweet to run multiple accounts. (thanks to Jim Gray for teaching me about this)
•    Evernote to save/organize my thoughts and my notes.

Most difficult for me
•    Manage and set others expectations.  I am sporadic by nature.

Social Media helps:

Get to know leaders better.  Where else could see how leaders live their live (even their marriage health.) It is great way to lead by example. Caution to not be fake.

Do you have thoughts on Social Media?

We want our websites rock’n and everything to be really fancy.  What could be more important than that?

Maybe spending money on groceries? Food is more important than fancy cameras and web masters [no offense web people] We have to make due. Youtube is a great free tool you can use to spread the word about your church plant. Eric and Nathan (ARC pastors in Indie) do a great job incorporating viral videos for there church plant through youtube.  Here is one…  1:51 min long

{If you can’t see Off-Script by Eric and Nathan click here}

As a church member, do you like seeing the pastor making the most of the free tools that are out there?

Billy traveled to Europe (London & Germany) to talk about ARC Churches International.  While he was there he ask a few people about ARC.  see the videos below

This guy is passionate.

Revolutionary new thing in Britain!

ARC- Adams inspiration…

flowerI am learning that success is determined more by your ability to set expectations rather than the final outcome.

Have you gone to a movie that had a lot of hype?  You’re  expecting the best movie in the world and it rarely meets your expectations.

“Great salesmen” can set expectations high, however too often the product cannot back up their claims.

However, there are those rare times when you have a truly great product.    The salesmen can set  expectations and you will still get more than expect(underselling).

The Pastor as Salesman

When launching a church, expectations are important. Some pastors over-sell everything about the church, only to have the congregation disappointed.

I often say that the easiest way to have success is to lower your expectations.  That’s why youtube videos are so great. They are free and you don’t expect much. Your expectations are low therefore you are easy to please.

What kind of expectations are you setting today?
