I just finished The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell. Great book. Here is one thing that stuck out.
Activity vs Accomplishment
If I could pick one law to share with you it would be Law 17 — The Law of Priorities. “Leaders understand that activity is not necessarily accomplishment.” After two years staying busy at ARC, I have realized leadership lessons are easy to read and hard to live out. It is easy to stay busy, but hard to stay focus and accomplish important task.
Maxwell says, “When we are busy, we naturally believe that we are achieving. But busyness does not equal productivity.”
If you want to learn about the other 20 laws you will have to read or listen to the book yourself. Buy the audio book here…

A good leader is:
-
“Like first light at daybreak.”
Leaders can turn darkness into light. Things that were once hard to understand are now easy. What was impossible in the darkness is now easy in the light. The world becomes clear.
-
“Like green grass carpeting the earth.”
Leaders provide resources. My horse loves to eat grass, green grass is her favorite. She couldn’t survive without it. Green grass makes the world a beautiful place and provides life to our resources.
Bolded above were David’s last words as king. (2 Sam 23)
Without the light we couldn’t make our way. Without grass we couldn’t enjoy the beauty along the way.
Light- shows us the way
Grass- makes it enjoyable

A good leader has both qualities. What if we trusted God to be a GREAT LEADER? Would he guide us and show us a beautiful life?
I think so…
How has God provided “Light” or “Grass” in your life?

E-book
The guy’s at Passion 4 Planting and I read
blogs every week on leadership and church planting. It’s our job to be a resourse to pastors. These blogs are posted
here every Friday.
Todd Wilson had the idea to create an e-book (Electronic-BOOK) of the blogs from 2008.
I hope these resourses are a help to you.
