Recipes by picture! Have you ever tried to cook something but couldn’t because the recipe was too hard to follow? It seems like recipes are written for moms who like to read all the little details. As a guy this is hard for me. (If I was reading this I would have skipped this paragraph and read the pictures below. I like to read pictures and that is why I post recipes for guys with pictures for each step. It is also stuff I cook (aka it is easy and it taste good!)

Taco Soup

This only makes 4-6 servings. You may want to double it. Notice all the undrained cans

1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion (I only used 1/2 onion)
15 1/4 ounce can whole kernel corn, undrained
10 ounce can original Rotel, undrained
15 ounce Chili beans, undrained
1 envelope taco seasoning
10 3/4 ounce can tomato soup, undiluted
1 cup water (I only used about 1/2 cup)
Tostitos
Monterey Jack cheese, grated

Brown beef. Drain. Combine all ingredients, except chips and cheese. Simmer on low. Serve with chips and cheese.

Everything you need.

First brown the beef.

Strain to get the grease out.

Add everything to the crock pot (or pot if cooking over the stove.)

Even add the beef.

Put in the fridge until tomorrow.

My wife Courtney got me this book for Christmas. I finished it in less than 10 days. Couldn’t put it down.

The author (Howard Wasdin) shares stories about his experience as an Elite Navy Seal Sniper (and how his upbringing prepared him for the military.) He was in the battle featured in the movie “Black Hawk Down.” It is crazy to hear it from his point of view.

It was interesting to hear how his life revolved around “THE TEAM” and how hard it was to adjust coming back after being wounded. I learned some military terms. Now I can talk to my buddy Charlie (who was in the Marines) and sound like I know what I am talking about.

We just got cable tv! For you this may be no big deal but I have lived most of my life without cable tv. There are so many shows to watch. Here are a few of my favorites:

Just found this site. There are tons of these online give tools out there. The click and drag feature is pretty cool. Also the “registry feel” where you can give dollar amounts to specific items. This tangibility tends to increase giving.

One down side is the 3.5% + $.25 per transaction, but they have to make a living some how.

Every year my church does a series called “at the movies.” It is there way of taking modern day parables “movies” and showing the biblical truth. Below is a advertisement they created. I especially like it because they borrowed all the props from my parents. Look for the “walker ranch” brand on his shirt. It looks like a wavy WR.
