Pastor Newbie is going to Clay Hill to start a church.  The soon to be church planter, likes a few things about his current church and members, however, there seems to be just as many things he does not like.  Can you figure out why he likes some things and not others?

The Church:

Newbie had spent many a year in the church and preached countless times.  But there were still things he liked and did not like. He liked the smell of the church but not the odor.  The look but not the design. The feel but not texture…

This was very odd…

The Members:

This little girl brought him a vase. He liked the glass, but not dirt.  It is a beautiful plant, he thought, he liked the green but not the leaf.

He liked her feet, but not her hands.

Her teeth, but not her smile.

The Town:

Then there was the town. He like the trees, but not leaves.

He like the grass, but not the sidewalks. The roofs but not the buildings.

Something is wrong with this soon to be church planter.  Can you tell me why he likes some things and not others?
